The YORK Tacitus is especially designed to be used in conjunction with the FN SCAR SC (Sub-Compact) PDW style rifle. The design of the Tacitus allows the SCAR SC to be integrally suppressed, using direct thread suppressors up to 38mm in diameter (1,5 inches). Because of this, the overall length of the rifle is maintained, while extending the possibilities of mounting lasers, lamps and foregrips forward.

The primary mounting system exists of NATO rail on the 12 and 6 o' clock position, extending the top rail of the SCAR itself. The secondary mounting system is the industry standard MLOK system by Magpul.

The YORK Tacitus is made by process of micro-extrusion and 5-axis CNC milling with specifically designed tooling, to ensure the tightest tolerances possible. The finish is a durable type III hard coat anodizing and it uses stainless steel mounting hardware for maximum corrosion resistance.

The YORK Tacitus is made in close cooperation with a European law enforcement agency and is designed around the wishes of the client. It is possible to apply different colors to the YORK Tacitus on special order.
